School Uniforms for the 2011-2012 Academic Year
Calendar of Uniform Dates 2011-2012
Summer Uniform: August 31st through October 21st and May 1st through June 18th. Green walking shorts with a white polo
monogrammed shirt, and standard shoes and socks, black or brown belt.
Standard Uniform: October 24th through April 30th
Remember, Polo Shirts are not allowed for Grades Three through Eight.
Green slacks or green cords are permissable for girls during the months of December, January and February ONLY.
Dear Parents:
The School Uniform is a symbol of our school community. Uniforms are to be kept neat and clean. Hairstyles and shoes must be appropriate and according to uniform attire. We need your full cooperation to see that each child is in proper and complete school dress.
School Dress Code
It is mandatory that all school uniforms be purchased through Donnelly's School Apparel

Green walking shorts with a white polo* shirt allowed - first several weeks of school year and the last several weeks of school (see dates on calendar). Polo Shirts can only be worn with green shorts as part of our summer/warm weather uniform in all grades with the exception of Gr. K-2.
* All polo shirts and sweaters are to be monogrammed with the name of Saint
Augustine School and must be purchased at Donnelly’s School Apparel.

General Rules
- All socks must come above the ankle.
- No sock with any logos.
- Students must wear only a white T-shirt under uniform shirts.
- All polo shirts, blouses, boy’s white shirts and sweaters are to be monogrammed with the name of Saint Augustine School and must be purchased at Donnelly’s School Apparel.
- Blouses and shirts are to be tucked in at all times.
It is mandatory that students in Grades 4 - 8 wear a St. Augustine Gym Uniform.

Gym Uniforms MUST be purchased from Donnelly’s (with the
school logo).
Shoes
All shoes must be either black or brown loafers or tie shoes. Solid black walking shoes and leather Mary Jane shoes are acceptable. MANDATORY FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD (GRADES PRE-K, K, 1 AND 2): All shoes must be tie or Velcro with rubber soles (no slip-ons) and NO HEELS over ½ inch high.
**BIRKENSTOCKS, COACH SHOES, COACH SNEAKERS (OR ANY KIND
OF SNEAKER WITH LETTERS OR SYMBOLS ON THEM), HIGH-TOP
SNEAKERS, UGG SLIPPERS, SANDALS, CLOGS, OPEN-TOED, AND
SLIP-ON SHOES ARE NOT ALLOWED. ONLY SHOES WITH LESS THAN
½ INCH HEEL ARE PERMITTED.
The following items are not part of our school dress code and will not be allowed:
- High top sneakers or sneakers with designs, colors, or flashing lights.
- High heeled and high platform shoes – no heels over ½ inch
- Long hair, pierced earrings, or cologne on the boys.
- Make up and large earrings, or perfume on the girls.
- The skirts on girls (Grades 5-8) cannot be any higher than 1 inch above the knee and are not to be rolled up.
- Tinted hair (green, blue, orange, etc.), two-toned dyed hair, or hair that is spiked.
- Only fine chain religious jewelry is allowed for girls and boys. Small
lockets and hearts are allowed for girls.
8. No tattoos – real or stick-on.
9. No ankle bracelets or jelly bracelets, silly bandz, or plastic charity
bracelets.
- Only uniform headbands or thin green, black, yellow, or white
headbands with no decorations may be worn.
- No hats permitted unless it is a sponsored spirit day.
The following items are not part of our “Free Dress Code”:
- T-shirts that promote wrestling, violence, or contain drug or alcohol
messages.
- Baggy clothing, bandanas, or hats.
- Hip-hugger and extremely low-rider pants.
- Tank tops/spaghetti strap tops.
- Low-cut necklines.
- Shirts must always cover midriff.
- No Gothic T-shirts or accessories (spiked bracelets, collars, etc.)
8. No “Heelies” (sneakers with wheels)

Standard Uniform: October 24th through April 30th. See dress code on reverse side. Remember, Polo Shirts not allowed for Grades Three through Eight as part of “standard uniform”.
